Can anyone give me an example of a deck that beats the Malestrom trainer mission and the campaign mission Assault on Thalmann's Platform. Both of these seem patently unfair (especially for any of the decks I have) and I'd like to eventually beat them one day, but I have no idea where to start

Deck is comprised of mostly act 1 cards, in honour of the time the trainer was created.

Otherwise, use noyade, core conflict, drastic measures, and you're set.

FOr the Thalmann mission
Now make a deck with the following cards:
| H. Thalmann
| Ops Center
| Emminent Domain
| Military Surplus
| Cluster Bomb Strike
| Mercy Center Visit
| Surgical Strike (x2)
|
| Invoke H. Thalmann
| Deploy the Ops Center in the city called TDEP
| Invoke Emminent Domain on the Ops Center
| Invoke Military Surplus
| Invoke Cluster Bomb Strike in the city called Tokyo
| Invoke Mercy Center Visit in the city called Tokyo
| Invoke Surgical on the Headquarter in TDEP
| Invoke Surgical on the Headquarter in TDEP
|
| There you have it, computer dies on turn 1

That did the trick (well, I didn't have any Mercy Center Visits so I used a regular military base instead of an Ops Center and an extra Cluster Bomb Strike). Now onto the crazy impossible Antarctica missions!  Grin

For that one, abuse the crap out of gaia's reflection in a 7 card deck, or noyade/core conflict works.

I just used Faith in the System + Gaia's Reflection. Stock up on Noyades, H. Thal, Score, CERT. There are other decks that win, but that one's the easiest

Edit: Finally beat it, but since Gaia's Reflection seemed like a cop out and I wanted to do it with a 40+ card deck, i ended up winning with a UN deck w/ Golani HQ and Military Victory.

For cheap defense, stocked up on Electronic Defense-able mechs to hold off the early assault, Eminent Domain'ed a few bases for resources (hope for UN Curfew to end quick), and shackled the "dangerous" enemies as necessary. Vostok Rangers eventually brought home the Military Victory.

Took a few tries but it worked with a legit deck. GOOOOOO Vostok Rangers!

I can't get past the one where you have to move Christine Palmer across the map. It seems like every time I get close... I run out of Turns.

Question is, can anyone actually destroy the deep ice HQ instead of doing things like diplomatic victory?

On a side note, don't they have their own angel, so you can't play failsafe AI?

Answer: yes. Smiley  Most of its defenders are defense only, so you can wipe them out with any form of renewable asset removable and then use evasion on the angel.

I actually find the TDEP mission a lot harder... I'd much rather defend the occasional warmachine than like 20 sabo dudes running at you on turn 3.
